Macro Photography

Wikepedia explains that:

Macro photography is close-up photography. The classical definition is that the image projected on the "film plane" (i.e., film or a digital sensor) is close to the same size as the subject.  Lenses designed for macro are usually at their sharpest at macro focus distances and are not quite as sharp at other focus distances.

When a bought my Tamron lens (70-300mm) in Singapore for SGD400 or PhP12,000 more or less, it came with macro feature which allows me to practice macro photography.  I took these shots on a saturday morning while Gwen and I are strolling in a rugged road behind our fish pond.

Aside from the fly and the dragonfly, these are just random flowers of grass and plants at the side of the dirt road.  With macro, they came out very beautiful.

Earning Bragging Rights

By conquering my fear of heights and with a certificate to boot, i just earned a bragging right when i completed the Sky Walk X at the Macau Tower.  This landmark tower was featured as a road block in my favorite The Amazing Race.

At 233 meters high, Macau Tower's Sky Walk X is the highest in the world.  It was fun but scary at the same time.  You can actually feel the wind trying to push you out of  balance. I was with enrique (my boss' nephew and some Japanese tourists).  The Japanese were oh so brave while i was trying to act my best not to show a hint of fear.  After we completed the 360 degrees tour, i can still feel the chill down my spine.

The Sky Walk X experience costs MOP/HK$588 or roughly P4,100.00 which includes a certificate, a cd containing your photos and a t-shirt.  The price does not include the entrance fee to the tower which is  MOP/HK$80 or PhP500++.

If you are far more adventurous, you can try the other adventure package like Bungy, Mast Climb, Sky Jump or the Tandem Sky Jump.  Go visit their web for more info.

PICTURES from MACAU

Here are pictures of myself taken during our trip to Macau.

Gwen at Gina's wedding

Gwen really looks very pretty when she walked down the aisle with Renz during her Tita Gina's wedding.

Kumar’s poem to Vanessa

It was a long weekend. PGMA declared yesterday a holiday. Got not much to do so i stayed home and watched cable tv the whole day.  I'm really good in flipping channels so when i checked HBO, i got the chance to watch Harold and Kumar.  The movie is ok. Average movie. Some funny moments and it surely occupied my time. The best part of the movie is when Kumar said this poem when he tried to stop Vanessa from leaving after he ruined her wedding. Here it goes...

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three.

The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed
